Eight Parts Can Be Divided of China Industry Area

Nowadays, with the development of industry and technology, China's regions can not only be divided into eastern, central and western three parts. In consideration of many different reasons, the area can be divided into eight parts according to the different industry distribution. Let us get a glimpse of China's current industry distribution.

First, the Northeast area. Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces. They are the manufacturing bases for heavy equipments. This area maintains the status of energy and raw material manufacture base. And it is the national specialized agricultural production base.

Second, the northern coastal provinces. This area is the most powerful high-tech research and development center as well as high-tech manufacturing center. Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong provinces are included in this center. Many famous high-tech enterprises can be found in this area. 

Third, the eastern coastal area. Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang provinces are the most influential multi-functional manufacturing center, which are one of the most competitive economic region.

Fourth, the southern coastal economic area. Fujian, Guangdong, Hainan. Here is the most important base for the development of export-oriented economy, digesting foreign advanced technology. And, it is a production base for both high-end consumer durables and non-durable consumer goods. High-tech products are also manufactured here. 

Fifth, the midstream part of the Yellow River. Shanxi, Henan, Inner Mongolia. This area is the largest deep coal mining and coal processing base, the natural gas and hydropower development base, the iron and steel industrial base, the non-ferrous metals industrial base, and the dairy production base.

Sixth, the midstream area of Yangtze River. Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui. These provinces are the rice and cotton based agricultural areas of farming products manufacturing and related products further processing. Also, Wuhan "Optics Valley of China" located here in Wuhan, Hubei province. Furthermore, it is the automobile production base here.

Seventh, the southwest economic area. Provinces included are Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guangxi. Heavy industry and textile industry are both located here, respectively take Chongqing and Chengdu as its center. Tourist industry developed well here, so it has become service industry and tourism goods producing base.

Eighth, the northwest lands. Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Tibet, Xinjiang. The northwest area is the important energy base, and is the largest comprehensive processing base for high-quality cotton, fruit, grain and livestock products. It is the forefront of opening up to the west and is the economic base in Central Asia. Tourism also developed well here.
